Peterborough Women's Centre has a number of policies and procedures in place. You
will find a brief overview of many of these policies below. If you wish to view the full

   Code of Conduct
All people will be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of any perceived reason
including race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability and age.
At all times people's feelings will be valued and respected. Language or humour that
people find offensive will not be used, eg sexist or racist jokes or terminology which is
  derogatory.
No-one will be harassed on any grounds. Incidents of harassment will be taken seriously.
If the matter cannot be resolved by way of an acceptable apology and an undertaking not
to repeat such action, then disciplinary proceedings, suspension from the centre or other
appropriate action by the manager or committee will be undertaken.
   Equal Opportunities Policy
Peterborough Women's Centre is totally opposed to all forms of discrimination. We are
committed to ensuring that our policies and practice combat all direct and indirect forms
of discrimination based on race, class, age, economic status, gender, sexuality or disability.

   Confidentiality Policy
All volunteers and workers should treat information given to them by, or about, another
person (ie client, volunteer or worker) with absolute confidentiality. Any confidential
information will not be divulged to any other party except in exceptional circumstances.

   Health and Safety Policy
PWC's health and safety policy covers the following areas:
   Volunteering Policy
Peterborough Women's Centre recognises the importance of volunteers in ensuring the
smooth running of the organisation. We aim to give the best possible support to our
volunteers so that both they, and the centre, gain maximum benefit from their contribution.

   Comments and Complaints Procedure
The centre is open to all women and aims to encourage and support women in a variety
of ways. We welcome the input from users of our services and any comments you have
will always be considered. If you wish to make a specific complaint, please be assured
that we will take it seriously. If you wish to make a complaint then please speak to a member
of staff or a member of the management committee.

   Skills for Life Policy
Peterborough Women's Centre recognises the benefits within the Skills for Life Agenda
and is fully committed to promoting Skills for Life within the organisation - to staff, clients,
funding providers, partners and sponsors. PWC has committed to a whole organisational
   approach for Skills for Life.

   Behaviour Management Policy
We believe that children flourish in an environment in which everyone knows what is
expected of them and where they are free to develop without fear of being hurt or hindered
by anyone else. We aim to enable children to develop their self esteem in an atmosphere
   of mutual respect and encouragement.

   Child Protection Policy
We believe that every child, regardless of age, has at all times and in all situations, a right to
feel safe and protected from any situation or practice that results in a child being physically
   or psychologically damaged.
