   An Easy Job?

Last year we launched our first Positive Parenting courses. Due to the success
of the sessions, we are now able to extend our range of courses and offer
Parenting Sessions for mothers/female carers of children aged 5-15 years in
addition to our sessions for
mothers/female carers of children aged 5-15 years. The programme has been developed by the Family Caring Trust. The
programme authors are husband and wife team Michael and Terri Quinn,
whose books have sold over 2 million copies worldwide. Family Caring Trust
is one of the main providers of Parent Education in the UK and Ireland. Their
material has been adapted or endorsed by the Health Visitors Association,
Barnardos, NCH, the Children's Society, Homestart, the National Childbirth
Trust and the NSPCC.
The sessions are FREE and open to all women who are caring for children
aged 0-5 and 5-15 years.
What's it all about? Parenting courses are about encouraging parents to explore their own views on
childhood and their children's behaviour. Who is the course for? The course is for every woman that is bringing up a child between the ages of
5 and 15, whether as part of a couple or as a lone parent.
How will it help me? Being a parent is a difficult job, nobody ever told us how hard! Sometimes no
matter how hard we try, things just never go how we planned them. This course
can help you accept that none of us are perfect, nobody gets it right all the time,
and there is no such thing as a perfect parent! By looking at your own strengths
and weaknesses, and learning some new ideas, it should help you to feel more supported, knowledgeable and confident as a mother.
Why does he do that? Is it me? What else can I do? Why won't she eat? I'm so frustrated. Why won't he listen? I've tried everything. Who can I ask? What now? Am I a bad parent? It worked before. Am I losing control? These are just some of the questions we parents ask ourselves. The parenting
programme can give us some answers and let us know we're not alone.
If you are interested in enrolling on a parenting course, or you would like
further information about this, or any of our other courses, please contact
