  Peterborough Women's Centre is proud to offer a wide variety of courses
to meet the needs of women in Peterborough. We are constantly updating
our courses and developing new programmes and we welcome any new
ideas or suggestions.
We require a deposit of £5.00 to secure your place on any of our courses. This
is refunded to you when you have completed your course. If you do need to cancel
your place after you have paid your deposit we will still refund your fee provided
you give us reasonable notice of your cancellation.
The centre offers a creche for children aged 0-5 years to support most of our courses. Places are limited so please ensure you book your child's place early.
Assertiveness A popular course that helps women to feel more confident, learn to
say no when they want to and to feel more positive. This course is always
oversubscribed and we operate a waiting list. Book early to avoid
disappointment! This course runs over 6 weeks.
Friday 12.30-2.30 starting 11th May Beginners IT Using First Time Online this three week course provides an introduction to computers. Thursday 1.00-3.00 starting 17th May, 21st June & 12th July Beginners IT for Young Parents Using First Time Online this three week course provides an introduction to computers for Mums under 25. Limited creche places are available to support this course. Friday 1.00-3.00 starting 18th May, 15th June & 6th July
ESOL English for Speakers of Other Languages. There are two levels of this course,
beginners and elementary for those who are more confident in their spoken and written English.
Monday 10.00-12.00, Tuesday 9.30-11.30 and 12.30-2.30
and Wednesdays 10.00-12.00
ESOL IT (English on the Computer) English for Speakers of Other Languages combined with computer skills. This
course is beneficial to women who have completed, or are currently studying,
under the ESOL programme. There is currently a waiting list for this course.
Friday 10.00-12.00
First Steps Into Home Computing In this ten week course you will learn the basic computer knowledge that will help you to improve your computer skills and give you the confidence to use your computer proficiently. Tuesday 9.30-11.30 starting 24th April Flower Arranging A six week course covering flat packet bouquets, aqua pack, table arrangements, cutting and conditioning flowers and different styles of ribbons. Wednesday 12.30-2.30 starting 25th April GROW (Growing Real Opportunities for Women) This eight week course is designed to help you to break down the barriers to employment, increase communication skills, confidence and self esteem, put you on the road to making the right choices and provide support in making the right decisions for you. Thursday 10.00-1.00 starting 7th June JET (Job and Enterprise Training) This eight week course has been developed to fast track you along the road to employment and help you to make the most of your skills and strengths to find the right job opportunity for yourself. Monday 10.00-1.00 starting 4th June
Silver Surfers This three week course is for women over 50. Using First Time Online this course provides an introduction to computers. Tuesday 1.00-3.00 starting 15th May, 12th June & 3rd July Women Back Into Work With Maths An accredited course designed to help you to brush up on your numeracy skills using a computer. Work at your own pace with tutor support. Wednesday 10.00-12.00

As our outreach programme develops, other courses will be offered in
different locations throughout Peterborough, such as Westwood, Parnwell,
Walton, Paston, West Town and Stanground.
